The annual meeting in Arlington is almost upon us! Please remember to donate items to this year’s SLOTTO and silent auction.  In keeping with our “Game On” theme, we would like to see sports-related items (and not just football).  Since “Game On” is not 100% sports, we want other items as well – be they wacky, historical, goofy, or serious. Support your colleagues by supporting SSA scholarships!  Bring donated items – including handmade and crafty items for the silent auction – to the registration desk at the Annual Meeting.

Contact scholarships committee chair Michelle Bogart at (979) 691-4032 or michelle.bogart@nara.gov for more information.

Project Management for Archivists. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, 1:00-5:00 pm.
Whether you are processing a collection, implementing a new digital system, moving to a new facility, setting up a public program, or creating an award-winning exhibit, you are serving as a de facto project manager. Archivists spend a large amount of our time working with these types of assignments with little to no project management training in our repertoire. In this workshop, participants will learn practical project management skills and tips with real-world application possibilities. We will discuss the ins-and-outs of project planning, scheduling, communication, and system utilization. Participants will be invited to share their successes and challenges, as well as present current projects for group discussion and assistance.
