Do you have any digitized film or video that you would like to share with your colleagues and other North Texas libraries? My name is Laura Treat and I am the Moving Image Preservation and Digitization Librarian at the University of North Texas Libraries. I am currently putting together a proposal for a screening of archival moving image collections at the  upcoming Cross Timbers Library Collaborative (CTLC) Conference to be held on August 7, 2015 at Texas A&M University Commerce in Commerce, TX (https://www.ct-lc.org/Events/2015-Conference).

It is my hope to host a screening of archival moving images from regional archives, libraries and museums. This is an opportunity to celebrate our moving image history and audiovisual preservation by screening materials for our colleagues. I would love to have you present to introduce your material, but I will do so on your behalf if you are unable to attend the conference.

If you are interested in participating, please contact me at laura.treat@unt.edu by 05/31/15. Preliminary submission guidelines are listed below. If the proposal is accepted for the conference, more details will follow.

    Preliminary Submission Guidelines:

Materials Accepted: Submissions from any original format, genre, and time period will be accepted. Preference will be given to footage highlighting the Cross Timbers region (broadly defined). Each submission should be no longer than 5 minutes, but multiple submissions will be considered. Archives must have the rights to present the material submitted and obtain necessary permission. Your submitted materials will not be used for any purposes other than this conference.

If you have film or video in your collections that you would like to share but you are not capable of digitizing, please send me a brief description of the item including its format, size/length, and condition. Depending on this information you and the number of submissions, I may be able to assist you in digitization.

Material Submissions: Submissions must be in digital format (.mov or .AVI files preferred). Submissions should include your name, the name of your institution, the title of the item submitted, creator, year of creation, original format, and a short description of the content. For the initial submission, you may submit a link to the material or a low-resolution copy if available.
