For nearly fifty years now, the Baylor University Institute for Oral History has worked with communities throughout Texas to better record, archive, and present their history. In 2017, BUIOH will make available a grant up to $2,500 to support a nonprofit group conducting oral history research at the community level in the state. Baylor University will partner with recipients in their efforts and provide training, equipment, consultation, and processing of the field interviews, which will be made available online as well as co-deposited at Baylor University and a local public archive. The community members who carry out the oral history project will also develop and arrange public programming to highlight the accomplishments of their endeavors. The deadline for grant applications is January 20, 2017.   To learn more about past recipients and their projects or to find additional details on this initiative please visit the Grants page on www.baylor.edu/oralhistory  .
