Call for Pop-Up and Working Group Session Proposals

The SSA 2020 Annual Meeting Program Committee invites submission of proposals for Pop-Up and Working Group sessions at the Annual Conference, Visionary Archives, in Denton, Texas, May 20-May 23, 2020.

Pop-Ups focus on ideas and content that may have “popped up” since the original submission deadline (November 15, 2019). Working Group sessions help facilitate conversations around topics or special interests that require more focused discussion.

We have two slots available for Pop-Ups/Working Groups: Thursday, May 21^st at 10:30 and 1:30. Because the schedule has been finalized, we have no flexibility on these times, so please be sure they work for you before submitting a proposal. 

Submissions should be a simple narrative of no more than 200 words that identifies a session leader and explains the purpose of the session, the intended audience, and how the session will proceed. Please include session lead’s contact information including institution, title, and email address. Email submissions to amy.rushing@utsa.edu.

Submissions must be received by 11:59 PM, Central time, on March 26^th, 2020.

Two sessions will be selected based on an online vote of SSA members (not the Program Committee). Voting will begin on March 30^th and end on April 8^th.  Voting results will be announced April 13^th.
