    SALARY: $50,000.00 annually

    Northwestern State University Libraries is seeking a 12-month, tenure-track, full-time (40 hours a week) faculty member for Cammie G. Henry Research Center. This position involves working collaboratively to organize and provide library resources and services for the University. Review of applications will begin immediately; the position will remain open until filled.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required: MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program. At least 3 years of experience working with digital curation, preservation, web design, and IT hardware, software support and the public service in libraries. Ability to train and supervise student workers. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff both inside and outside the University Libraries.

    Desired: MS CIS. Experience in archives and grant writing.

    JOB DUTIES (but not necessarily limited to):

    1. Digital Projects under the supervision of the Head Archivist

    Digital curation, preservation, storage, retrieval, policies, procedures, and delivery of digital materials to local and distant researchers. Consult with the Head Archivist on digital curation matters. Input data into and retrieve data from an archival relational database system. Ability to create and curate digital exhibits. Experience with Microsoft & Adobe Suites. Provide positive customer service to library patrons. Compile, deliver, and maintain monthly, quarterly, and yearly statistical reports. Collaborate with the Head Archivist on library assessment projects.

    2. Library Projects & Initiatives

    Develop, implement, maintain, and update Library webpages. Maintain social media platforms. Compile, deliver and maintain statistical reports on social media posts and web pages. Familiarity and ability to train library personnel on software productivity applications and various video conferencing platforms. Embrace an open-door policy when providing technical support on library related software systems. Serve on library, university, professional and public committees. Oversee and maintain computer hardware and scanning equipment inventory and provides technical input on computer hardware and scanning equipment supply and maintenance. Serve as library liaison to one or more academic departments. Serve as backup systems administrator, integrated library systems (Sirsi-Dynix Symphony Workflows).

    Work nights and weekends as needed. Other duties as assigned or required.
