    The Special Collections Library Production Associate position is responsible for aiding in the daily care of the Archives and its collections. A specific focus of this position is the processing of incoming collections gifted to the Archives. The Library Production Associate position creates records for processed collections using Archon. Additional duties for this position include documenting collections processing, completing inventories, creating preliminary processing plans in collaboration with the Processing Coordinator assisting in the preservation of documents, writing digital finding aids, providing reference assistance to the patrons of the Special Collections department, exhibit preparation, creating and maintaining departmental databases, a well as performing other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of progressively responsible library experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Extensive knowledge of library principles and policies, and knowledge of specialized area functions and workflows.

    • Experience in working effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community.

    • Ability to utilize multiple computer applications toward increased productivity in a rapidly changing environment.

    • Strong leadership skills.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

    • Knowledge of safe working procedures and security measures related to work performed.
