    The University Records Manager will be responsible for planning, policy development, implementation, support, assessment and auditing of the Texas A&M University Records Program in accordance with Texas A&M University System policy 61.99.01 and Texas Gov’t Code Ch. 411.180.  This position will maintain a robust/effective and adaptive training program for university personnel, work closely with administrative and academic offices to ensure proper scheduling of records, perform surveys of records, and monitor compliance. They will provide expertise in accepted standards and best practices of records administration, creation and maintenance of current university records in all formats, record lifecycle-based processes and workflows, and compliance with university policies and federal and state law regarding retention and disposition of active and inactive records. If this job description sounds interesting to you, we invite you to apply to be considered for this opportunity.

    Responsibilities:

    • Program Management & Records Analysis: Manages the overall operation of the Texas A&M University Records Management Program including the operation of the University Records Center.  Develops, updates, implements, and monitors procedures of the records management program at the University, applies record and information management (RIM) standards to ensure an effective program that provides timely, accurate, cost-effective, and secure access to records.  Works with TAMU Records Management Program Records Analyst and conducts records analysis and retention research with university entities. Develops, updates, implements, and monitors auditing processes for University-wide compliance with the records management procedures. Works with University Archives staff to coordinate the transfer of permanent institutional records to the University Archives.

    • Training & Consultation: Creates and maintains a robust/effective and adaptive training program for university personnel. Develops and disseminates records management guidance and training documentation. Answers records management reference requests by telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings.

    • Liaison & Partnerships: Assists in the development of policies and procedures that have records management implications in partnership with System and campus units–such as University System RMO, System Legal Counsel, and other TAMU System agencies.  Establishes, nurtures, and sustains relationships, communication, and collaboration between the Records Management Program and campus partners to ensure proper scheduling of records.

    • Supervision: Hires, trains, directs workflow, coaches, and evaluates student employees as well as performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Five years' experience in records management, institutional records management or corporate records management

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills

    • Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving and organizational skills

    • Knowledge email, spreadsheet applications, and internet searching

    • Excellent customer service skills
