    LIBRARIAN/ARCHIVIST: The Dick Smith Library at Tarleton State University is seeking a Librarian/Archivist. Under the direction of the Coordinator for Archives and Special Services, the Librarian/Archivist is responsible for analog and digital archival and special collections as well as university archival records management. Processes existing and incoming archival and special collections materials using current national standards and creates online finding aids. Provides high-quality reference services to students, faculty, staff, and the community.

     

    Requires a master’s degree in library / information science from an ALA-accredited program; Four years of related experience in a library, archive or museum setting. Demonstrates competencies in using computers, office applications, and library and archives-related software. Coursework and/or training in archival theory, methodology, issues, and trends. Knowledge of library and archival reference tools and procedures. Knowledge of records management issues and practices. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others or independently. Strong interpersonal, presentation, customer service, facilitation, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

     

    This is a twelve-month, professional appointment with salary commensurate with qualifications plus benefits, including choice of group medical and retirement programs; approximately 14 state holidays; paid vacation and sick leave; tuition program; and no state or local income tax.
