Tulane University is currently recruiting for the position of Hogan Jazz Archive Curator for the Special Collections Division at the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. Reporting to the Director of Special Collections, the Curator will develop partnerships across Tulane University and the broader research community that document the unique musical legacy and culture of New Orleans and the surrounding region. The Curator will develop a collecting strategy that strengthens and expands on the holdings of the Hogan Jazz Archive and that aligns with the mission and goals of the Special Collections division and the Library. The Curator will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community members to identify and facilitate new acquisitions. In collaboration with Special Collections staff and the Library’s Scholarly Engagement team, the Curator will provide instruction that promotes the use of primary source materials in teaching and learning at Tulane and that is responsive to the research needs of faculty and students. The Curator will support division outreach efforts by contributing to exhibitions, online content, and other programming. The Curator will contribute to setting and advancing division goals and evaluating outcomes. In partnership with the Director of Special Collections, the Dean of Libraries and Academic Information Resources, and University Advancement, will identify, cultivate, and steward donors to enhance the Archive’s support base. The Hogan Jazz Archive Curator will also contribute meaningfully to relevant professional groups, training and development activities, and will present or publish in appropriate forums and otherwise enrich his/her professional profile and knowledge.
