    Message # 10077766
In an effort to begin monthly communications with RAAC representatives about all things advocacy related, the RAAC Advocacy Subcommittee looks forward to highlighting existing advocacy resources, articles on advocacy, and any “of the moment” advocacy issues.

    This month's recommended reading is:

Many Happy Returns: Advocacy and the Development of Archives, Edited by Larry J. Hackman.  Available at theSociety of American Archivists book store.

“Many Happy Returns specifically targets the individual archivist at all levels and will be of immense value to a wide audience of archival professionals, not simply institutional leaders or managers. All of us who strive for the continuing and increasing success of our institutions over time should find something valuable in this well-written, easily understandable work.”  - Jeremy Brett, “Book Reviews,” The American Archivist (Fall/Winter 2012)

In addition to the recommended reading above, your memberships may be interested in a National Coalition for History news piece from December 2020 reporting on the FY21 budget for federal history-related programs: https://historycoalition.org/2020/12/22/final-fy-21-budget-for-federal-history-related-programs/
