Call for Participants: Research Survey on MLIS Education on Trauma-Informed Archival Labor

A research study being conducted by Katherine Schlesinger, as part of a University of Arizona MLIS graduate student project, seeks to understand the prevalence and nature of MLIS education on the topic of trauma-informed archival labor, and faculty knowledge and interest in such programs.

If you are a faculty member teaching any aspect of archival studies in an ALA accredited MLIS program in the USA and would like to participate in this study, please complete the anonymous short online survey.  (It should take about 10 minutes to complete.)

The survey will be available until Friday April 29, 2022.

Trauma-Informed Archival Labor (TIAL) is an emerging topic of investigation and concern among archival professionals and academics.  Note that the focus of this survey is on TIAL educational initiatives.  The survey does not mention specific incidents of traumatic events, or request information about incidents of trauma that the subjects might have experienced in any prior context.

Thank you for considering the opportunity to participate in this research project.  If you would like further information about this research, please contact k.schlesinger@email.arizona.edu.
