I’m working with the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) Local TV Task Force on a survey that collects information about local TV collections and the institutions that collect and preserve them. I believe that some SSA members might have local TV collections and/or know other institutions that do.  We’d very much appreciate it if you would share your knowledge. Please see the survey invitation below for more details.

    Thank you!

Purpose: The purpose of this survey is to collect information about local television collections and the institutions that collect and preserve them.

What is Local TV? For our current purposes, “local television” is defined by the Task Force as: moving images and recorded sounds that were created for television broadcast in local U.S. markets, specifically network affiliate and independent stations, including public/cable access but excluding public broadcasting stations.

    Survey Link: https://unt.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0IiqUOhV60oph6B

Survey Timeline: The survey will be open from 11/30/17 - 01/12/18.

Survey Length: We anticipate that the survey will take approximately 25-30 minutes of your time to complete. If you need to gather information about the collection, you may return to finish the survey within 1 week of opening it.

Share it! If you know of any institutions who might have local TV collections, especially those who are not members of AMIA, we encourage you to share the survey link.  Please limit responses to one person per institution.

Questions: If you have any questions or feedback about the Local TV Task Force, this survey, or any other task force activities, please don’t hesitate to email us at:  amialocaltv@gmail.com
