Welcome!

Committees

SSA has a number of standing committees, as well as ad hoc committees which are appointed to consider current matters that fall outside of the purview of any standing committee. In addition, the SSA president appoints liaisons to represent the Society at meetings of outside groups and committees.

If you are interested in serving on a committee, contact the current committee chair or (for the Nominating or Scholarship Committees which are elected positions) contact the chair of the Nominating Committee. You may also indicate your committee interests on your member profile in the online directory.

Brief descriptions and current membership of each committee are provided below. More information on the membership, responsibilities of, and procedural guidelines for the various committees can be found in the Officer and Committee Procedures Manual.

We welcome nominations. Please send them to the chair of the Distinguished Service Award Committee and include a description of the nominee's society activities and her or his activities outside the society (typically at the national or international level) that benefited the profession as a whole.
