Job Description:
- Organize and process archival collections in accordance with professional standards.
- Prepare finding aids, inventories, and metadata to ensure accessibility of archival materials.
- Implement preservation strategies for both physical and digital collections, including appropriate storage, handling, and environmental monitoring.
- Recommend conservation treatments and coordinate digitization efforts.
- Assist faculty, students, and external researchers in accessing and utilizing archival materials and library resources, including support at the Ask Here Information Desk. Respond to inquiries, provide consultations, and conduct research workshops focused on archival resources.
- Develop exhibits, presentations, and digital displays to showcase archival holdings.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate archival materials into teaching and learning.
- Support digitization efforts and the management of digital asset systems.
- Facilitate access to online archival collections and contribute to institutional repositories.
- Prepare reports, statistics, and documentation related to archival activities.
- Engage in professional development, research, and service to both the university and the archival profession.
- Supervise and train student workers or interns who assist with archival operations.
- Work closely with library departments, faculty, and campus units to support academic programs.
- Participate in grant writing and project development initiatives to foster the growth and sustainability of archival resources.
