You are cordially invited to join one of the archival profession’s most energetic, vital, and productive associations. While our focus is on the Southwest United States and our member states of Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas, we serve members from most US states and many foreign countries. We welcome the participation of everyone interested in preserving our documentary heritage.

The Society of Southwest Archivists welcomes the participation of all persons interested in furthering and promoting the preservation and use of archives. Our members include: archivists, special collections librarians, preservationists, conservators, museum curators, records managers, students, historians, genealogists, volunteers, and other persons interested in cultural preservation.

Annual Membership dues are $40.00 for individuals, with a reduced rate of $15.00 for students and retirees.

Institutional group memberships are available at 3 levels:

Institutional Membership – Level 1
$80/year
Institution may designate up to 3 employees as members of SSA, including the membership administrator

Institutional Membership – Level 2
$160/year
Institution may designate up to 5 employees as members of SSA, including the membership administrator

Institutional Membership – Level 3
$240/year
Institution may designate up to 7 employees as members of SSA, including the membership administrator

Institutional memberships offer the following benefits:

1. Membership discount on conference registration for institutional member designees.
2. Ability for institutional member designees to serve on SSA committees and as officers.
3. Ability to access The Southwestern Archivist online.
4. Recognition in The Southwestern Archivist.
