    This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

    The Center for Creative Photography (CCP) seeks a user-focused, inclusive, creative, and collaborative Archives team member. The Public Services Assistant (Archivist II) will be responsible for providing a wide range of user and collection-supporting services, working closely with the Archives team and in collaboration with colleagues across units within the Center. This position will work with tangible and born digital materials in a variety of formats including manuscripts, photographs, slides, contact sheets, proof prints, audio and video recordings, memorabilia, and other items. Engaging innovative and future-looking approaches, the incumbent will work with the inquisitiveness, flexibility, and drive necessary to promote and enhance user access to and experiences with the CCP’s unparalleled collections. The Public Services Assistant reports to the Public Services Manager and works in concert with their supervisor and the rest of the Archives team to provide support and direction to interns and students.

    The Public Services Assistant works 1-2 shifts per day in the Volkerding Study Center on the reference desk. Current open hours for the Study Center are 10-4:30, Tuesday-Saturday. This position will maintain a regular Tuesday-Saturday schedule to support the reference and research-supporting activities of the Study Center. The Public Services Assistant pages and prepares materials for use within the Study Center and for classes and other community engagement activities hosted by the Center. May support teaching and learning activities and community engagement as assigned.
