Job Summary:
Under the direction of the State Archives Manager, the Archivist IIis responsible forproviding professional archival services for the Oklahoma Department of Libraries’ State Archives unit. Applying their specialized knowledge and skills in archives, they workwith state agency personnel, researchers, and members of the public to preserve and provide access to historically significant government records. This process will include accepting the transfer of records into theState Archives, processing records, creating and maintaining finding aids, and creating digital copies of records and making them accessible through ODL’s website and other online platforms.
Job Duties:

Process materials and prepare finding aids, indexes, and other instruments to provide access (physical and intellectual) to collections; monitor the indexing, storage, and retrieval of materials.

Appraise and acquire historical materials, such as documents, publications, and artifacts, ensuring their long-term accessibility and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in archival studies, library sciences, history, political science, or related degree plus two years of archival experience
Salary: $49,800-54,800 based on education and experience NOTE: This position is required to travel from ODL to the State Records Center located at 426 E. Hill St and the State Records Annex located at 125 NE 21stSt using the employee’s personal vehicle. Maintaining a valid driver’s license is required.
