    Associate Director for Library Information Services -- R.W. Steen Library, Stephen F. Austin State University -- Nacogdoches, TX


    Stephen F. Austin State University, Ralph W. Steen Library in Nacogdoches, Texas, is seeking an associate director for information services. Responsibilities include: provide leadership inmanaging the regular operation of the library information services division, which includes the East Texas Research Center (ETRC), the Center for Digital Scholarship (CDS), and Research and Instructional Services (RIS). Additional responsibilities include: exercising leadership in the development of services that support the university’s education and research programs and that facilitate worldwide scholarly communication; engaging in assessment and long-range planning activities; directing the collection development and liaison programs; coordinating divisional activities with the associate director of library technology, the director of the Academic Assistance and Resource Center (AARC), and otherwise assisting the library director in the overall operation of the library. Works under limited supervision and with considerable latitude. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position that is security-sensitive. Reports to the director of the library.


    Education:

    Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association-accredited institution is required.


    Experience and Training:

    Five years of related experience is required.  Administrative experience in a college or university library setting is required. Experience with grant writing is required. A demonstrated record of leadership and achievement in the library to warrant the rank of Librarian III or higher is required.


    Salary:

    Salary is commensurate with experience.
