    Dear colleagues,

We write to invite you to attend two training sessions focused on collective leadership, offered by the Society of American Archivists (SAA) and supported by an SAA Foundation grant.

Inclusive leadership, collective decision-making, and anti-oppressive facilitation are essential skills for driving innovation, inclusivity, and anti-racist action within the archival field.

The first session is introductory and will introduce attendees to the foundations of collective leadership through defining it as a practice; sharing strategies to foster collective leadership, including facilitation, trauma-informed practices, developing a shared vision and values, making decisions together, resolving conflict, and discussing change management; and providing time for attendees to reflect. You may register for the first, introductory session here: Together We Lead: An Overview of Collective Leadership

The second session is highly participatory and will build on concepts established in the introductory session. The participatory session will allow attendees to refresh inclusive leadership, collective decision-making, and anti-oppressive facilitation skills through responding to scenarios together. You may register for the second, participatory session here: Together We Lead: A Participatory Session Focused on Collective Leadership

Anyone is welcome to attend. Attendance is free for SAA members and $49 for people who are currently not members of SAA. No previous experience is necessary, although we request that registrants for the second session plan to also attend the introductory session.

Hope to see some of you there,

Jessica Chapel, Alison Clemens, and Lydia Tang
