The Metadata Specialist (Project) is responsible for creating original descriptive metadata in support of The Wittliff’s digitization efforts, with a focus on holdings within the Texas Music Collection. This position ensures that collection material is physically prepped; described according to Wittliff metadata application profiles and professional standards; and that internal and external access points are updated. The Metadata Specialist reports to the Metadata Archivist and collaborates closely with curators, archivists, and University Libraries staff on digital and other initiatives. This is a 2-year Project position.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or four years work experience working in a field related to archives, libraries, museums, or other cultural heritage sites
- Demonstrated subject knowledge of Texas Music
- Research and analytical skills
- Database management, including FilemakerPro and/or Access; library/archival management systems such as ArchivesSpace, Archon, or Caiasoft
- Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, colleagues, and students
Monthly Salary: $3,793.55 - $4,166.67; This is a 2-year Project position.
