    As the Media Migration Archivist Intern, you will support the Human Research Program's Life Sciences Data Archive (LSDA) project at Johnson Space Center (JSC). This position is non-supervisory, and the successful candidate will be able to confer with the other Archivists currently supporting the LSDA regarding how best to achieve the responsibilities and goals outlined below. 

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
    • Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies, and procedures
    • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company
    • Responsible for completing all assigned training
    • Assist the project's media migration team with inventory of historic records/materials found in the project's legacy media collections
    • Perform scanning of records or materials selected for digitization
    • Conduct research project to identify best practices for integrating historic datasets and contextual records into an operational digital research data repository
    • Input and update research study data into various databases and perform data updates and audits
    • Respond to customer's data inquiries and concerns, addressing issues promptly
    • Maintain confidentiality of all medical and personal information to which access has been granted
    • Provide weekly status reports of work activities to project lead

    Required Skills/Qualifications:

    • Enrolled in a Master's program in Information Sciences or Library Sciences
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
    • Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, project leads, customers, and colleagues.

    Position: Media Migration Archivist Intern 

    Type: Full-time, Internship (8 weeks)

    Location: Onsite in Houston, TX - Johnson Space Center (JSC) 

    Pay$20.25 per hour
