    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    This position is responsible for increasing awareness and compliance with agency and statutory records management practices. The position assists various programs in accessing historic documents and materials through the use of a digital repository.

    Under the direction of the State Parks Staff Services and Administration Director, this position performs complex (journey-level) to advanced (senior level) records and management work. This position is responsible for archival work and ensuring division compliance with agency Records Management protocol and statutory requirements.  This position provides consultative services and direction regarding maintenance, management, disposition, and preservation of physical and electronic records, often collaborating with the agency Records Management Branch as well as other Archivists and Records Liaisons in the agency and preservation of records.  This position also analyzes and develops division-wide best practices for records and information management and utilizes software to manage electronic records and a digital asset management system implementing accepted standards for metadata and digital preservation.  The Records Analyst III may supervise the work of others.   Performs additional duties as assigned.  Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.

    Experience:

    Records Analyst II: 

    Two years experience with records management, museum or library science, or archival work;

    Experience with digitization of records and/or digital records storage systems and processes.

    NOTE:  Experience may have occurred concurrently.

    Records Analyst III: 

    Three years experience with records management, museum or library science, or archival work;

    Experience conducting training or educational program associated with records management, preservation services, or document control methodologies;

    Experience with digitization of records and/or digital records storage systems and processes.

    NOTE:  Experience may have occurred concurrently.

    Licensure:

    Applicant must possess a valid State driver’s license.

    NOTE:  Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with limited ability to telework;

    Required to work overtime, as necessary;

    Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays;

    Required to perform manual labor, including lifting supplies and materials up to 40 lbs.;

    Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures;

    Required to operate a State vehicle;

    Non-smoking environment in all State buildings and vehicles.

    Salary (Pay Basis)4,500.00 - 4,917.12 (Monthly)
