Mexican American Community Archivist (Archivist II)

Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Develops and implements public programs and events related to Mexican American history in Austin/Travis County.
- Identifies, acquires, organizes and processes archival collections and materials related to Mexican American heritage in Austin/Travis County.
- Compiles finding aids, reference guides, articles, statistics and reports
- Provides archival reference and research services in person, over the phone and via email.
- Provides public liaison activities including lectures, media appearances and interviews related to Mexican American history in Austin/Travis County.
- Collaborates with other organizations to plan and implement programs related to Mexican American history.
- Coordinates and conducts meetings, training, tours, and public programs for the public and staff.
- Curates, plans exhibits by organizing and interpreting historical records for public presentation related to Mexican Americans in Austin/Travis County.
- Collects oral histories documenting Mexican American history.
- Coordinates and supervises volunteer tasks
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; some evenings and, at minimum, one weekend per month.
