    Salary

    $15.59 - $27.12 Hourly

    $32,427 - $56,413 Annually

    This position is a Pay Band 65


    Purpose of Position

    This position is an Archivist-A. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.


    Why does the job exist?

    This position will perform a broad range of archival functions to include accessioning, processing, preservation, arrangement, description, reference assistance, and outreach. The information takes on many forms to include paper, photographs, films, video and sound recordings, electronic data files and web sites.


    How does it get done?

    The incumbent in this position will have experience in accessioning, processing, preservation and arrangement, however, he/she will concentrate their daily work more with photographs, video and sound recordings and assist with social media outreach web sites. The incumbent will provide leadership for special projects which could include overseeing volunteers, and interns. The incumbent will develop and deliver workshops, exhibits, and presentations related to archival functions and collections.   Incumbent will identify and prepare grant applications for funding as needed.

    Knowledge of New Mexico history
    Knowledge of archival storage best practices
    Knowledge of different filing systems
    Ability to repeatedly lift and move storage boxes as noted under adverse environmental conditions
    Data entry experience
    Excellent organizational skills
    Excellent customer service skills
    Ability to make sound decisions
    Ability to work independently
    Ability to multi-task


    Minimum Qualification

    Bachelor's degree in Archival Administration and Public History, History, Archaeology, Anthropology or Library Sciences and two (2) years of experience in archiving and/or record keeping. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.
