    The Society of American Archivists has the "Archives, Public Policy, and You" advocacy guide, which contains a lot of information about federal advocacy and a section about state and local advocacy. The next updates come courtesy of information shared with me by Bryan Whitledge, Chair of SAA's Committee on Public Policy (COPP): 

    • "We (COPP) are working to revise this [the advocacy guide linked above] to include some new information about virtual visits. We (COPP) also recently ran a webinar about conducting virtual visits with legislative staffers and that ½ hour recording should be processed and available on the SAA YouTube soon – both the revised guide and the video should be done in the next month." 
    Another note from Bryan: 

    • "COPP members are always happy to help with advocacy-like tracking down the correct people in an office, setting up a pre-meeting to game plan how to approach an advocacy effort, or accompanying anyone to a virtual meeting."
