Invitation to Participate in New RBMS Diversity Action Plan

Would you like to collaborate with people who work with rare books, manuscripts, and other library special collections to impact diversity in the field?

The Diversity Committee of the Rare Books and Manuscript Section (RBMS of the Association of College & Research Libraries/American Library Association) seeks input in developing, writing, and implementing a Diversity Action Plan.

This new Diversity Action Plan will seek to establish goals that reflect current diversity issues and result in actions that increase and promote diversity in RBMS, the profession, and beyond.

The current version of the Diversity Action Plan is available at https://rbms.info/diversity/rbms_diversity_action_plan/. As the plan was published over 20 years ago, the members of the Diversity Committee wish to create a new plan that will include creating a welcoming environment, helping make the

RBMS mentorship program successful, investigating fees, and providing more events and programs outside of the annual conference.
We invite both members and non-members to participate. We expect and plan that your time commitment to this effort will be very light, although you are free, of course, to contribute as much of your time, enthusiasm, and expertise that you would like to offer. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the RBMS interest form https://forms.gle/8NtNttoZM5xpQVmx7.

    Sincerely,
    RBMS Diversity Committee
