We are a visual research company located in Los Angeles, CA, that specializes in finding non-traditional imagery, including archival material, for commercial, documentary, and feature film productions. We are currently working on a project for a client that relates to the history of Memphis, TN--specifically, The Four Way Restaurant, which is a historically black-owned business that opened in 1947 and is still in operation. The restaurant is located in the Soulsville neighborhood (aka South Memphis, Sugar Hill), close to the Stax Recording Studio and Lemoyne Owen College.

Having been in touch with a lot of local collections, including the Memphis Public Library, we're now reaching out to archives in neighboring states to make sure we're not missing any great material that might be in their collections. If you have--or know of!--ANY collections of stills, footage, audio, oral histories, or ephemera that might relate to Memphis history, or The Four Way, please email the folks working on this project at south@nickersonresearch.com. We would be most grateful for your assistance!
