Job Description:
The Compliance Archivist Research Associate(s) will work cooperatively with Zion National Park (ZION) staff to support the Park’s museum program and project planning. The primary role of the position is to process, arrange, describe, catalog, and provide access to physical and digital archival collections according to NPS museum and records management policies and procedures specifically related to previous and ongoing projects at the park.
Archivist responsibilities will have a strong emphasis placed on creating file arrangements and processing plans, and archiving project planning for general physical and digital documents as well as those generated to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). Work would draw connections across various NPS digital platforms and files, specifically the Interior Collections Management System (ICMS), Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC), Project Management Information System (PMIS), Facilities Management Software System (FMSS), Electronic Technical Information Center (eTIC), and NPGallery. Additionally, the Archival Technician(s) assists the Museum Curator with broader museum and archives tasks, including annual inventories, finding aids, rehousing collections, and working in the NPS Research Permit and Reporting System. Lastly, the Technician(s) will utilize the Department of the Interior's automated cataloging system and procedures to catalog and manage museum and archive collections.
