    Description

    The University of Arkansas Libraries are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Assistant University Archivist and contribute to the Special Collections Division and University Archives Unit. The Assistant University Archivist increases the accessibility of the unit’s rich archival collections through arranging and describing collections and contributing to reference and outreach efforts and the developing digital preservation program. The Assistant University Archivist works in the University Archives Unit, contributes to the work of the Special Collections Division, and serves as a member of the Special Collections Division Processing Team.

    This position is responsible for increasing the discoverability of the University Archives collections and reports to the University Archivist. The position arranges and describes core collections documenting the university’s history and creates finding aids that adhere to archival best practices and standards. The position assists the University Archivist in assessing and moving new donations. The position responds to reference questions and may assist with exhibitions, classroom instruction, and campus/community presentations. The position performs quality assessment in the web archiving program and participates in the departmental Processing Team.

    Salary

    $40,500
