    Library and Archival Collections Manager

    Salary: $19.86 hourly

    Description: Plans for long-term library and archival collections growth and manages daily library operations within established guidelines by performing the following duties:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Maintains the library and archival collections by developing, acquiring, and culling the collections regularly;
    • Cares for the library and archival collections by authenticating, preserving, and organizing the various materials according to professional standards;
    • Provides public assistance in conducting research as well as in the use of collection catalog, databases, and other tools facilitating discovery of, and access to, the holdings of the library and archives;
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures for users of the library and archival collections;
    • Works with the Programs Manager to plan and host outreach activities that interest and attract the public;   
    • Acts as liaison to the Brazoria County Library System, and maintains and awareness of, and skill with, their integrated library system platform;
    • Acknowledges “memorial” or “honor” donations in a timely manner and selects appropriate material with these funds;
    • Oversees the preparation of the monthly revenue report;
    • Cultivates positive working relationships with members of the community as well as with co-workers;
    • Attends and participates in professional activities, conferences, and committees to maintain awareness of current professional library and archival trends, methods and ethics;
    • Performs other office duties not outlined here in accordance with supervisor’s requests and assignments;
    • Attends and participates in meetings as required;
    • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
