Essential Functions
- To ensure the long-term preservation of born digital materials; to oversee the digitization of Special Collections materials; and to provide access to digital holdings.
- Develop and oversee processes, procedures, and specifications for collecting, preserving, and providing access to born digital records and hybrid collections.
- Oversee workflows for digitization of analog materials, including quality control procedures, prioritization of production, and applying best practices for metadata creation.
- Coordinate and supervise special projects.
- Collaborate with cross departmental teams to develop online exhibits and other discovery tools.
- Participate in Digital Humanities initiatives to align preservation of archival content.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- ALA accredited MLS degree with advanced coursework in archival theory and methodology or a Master’s degree in public history or another humanities field with a concentration or post-master’s certificate in archival administration. Degree must be awarded by date of hire.
- Coursework in digital preservation, digital archives, or related.
- Knowledge of concepts, techniques, tools, and workflows for digital preservation and digitization.
- Knowledge of digital preservation metadata standards including, EAD, Dublin Core, and METS.
- Knowledge of various types of audio, video, image, text, and other media formats.
- Knowledge of archival concepts and processes.
- Strong commitment to diversity, accessibility, equity, and inclusion in the workplace or community.
- High level of initiative and self-motivation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and stakeholders effectively.
- Aptitude for learning new tools and technologies.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- SAA Digital Archives Specialist Certification (DAS) in addition to required master’s degree.
- One to three years experience in digital preservation, including experience with tools and workflows to support processing and management of born digital and digitized records.
- One to three years experience in overseeing digitization projects and/or workflows.
- Experience with archival processing and descriptive practices..
- Experience working in an academic archive or special collections department.
