    Summary

    The Bentley Historical Library’s Curation Team seeks a user-oriented, creative, collaborative, and self-motivated individual to join the Curation Team in the position of Archivist for Archival Processing. They should be committed to inclusive and reparative archival description and access, and helping build an equitable and anti-racist community.

    Required Qualifications*

    • MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution or an advanced related degree required
    • At least two years of professional experience processing format-diverse records of varying sizes and complexity in an archival repository or special collections
    • Knowledge of current developments and best practices in archival management,  archival management systems, and content standards
    • Experience with current standards for archival and library description such as DACS; understanding of the use of controlled vocabularies and descriptive cataloging
    • Knowledge of descriptive metadata schemes such as EAD, MARC, and XML
    • Familiarity with preservation, conservation, legal, and ethical issues related to archival materials
    • Demonstrated interest in active learning and participating in activities that reflect diversity and inclusion issues
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as with multiple external stakeholders

    SALARY

    $54,000.00 - $54,000.00
