Salary: $50,000 annually
Benefits: $200/month insurance stipend, 36 paid holidays, 2 weeks sick & vacation time, primarily remote work
About the position: The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement community and educational programming throughout IHP’s 4 state area. Additionally, the Assistant Director will work with the Lead Archivist to increase the diversity of collections (primarily focusing on People of Color and Transgender, Nonbinary, & Gender Nonconforming people) through outreach and research. The Assistant Director will also supervise IHP’s graduate interns and assist with the planning of the Queer History South conference every two years. This is a grant funded position.
Responsibilities: Specifically, this person will

manage planning and logistics for Queer History South (20% time);

help implement diversity and inclusion plan for collections (15% time);

manage and grow social media (15% time);

assist with and develop exhibits (10% time);

create and implement community programming (25% time);

work with interns as needed for projects (5% time);

assist with community organization archival advising and services (5% time);

and other duties as necessary (5% time).
