    Job Summary:  

    The Archivist/Records Management Specialist I provides professional consulting services to ensure state agencies maintain records according to statutory and regulatory requirements and best practices. They work with state agency personnel, researchers, and members of the public to provide access to records housed at the State Archives and the State Records Center. This process will include accepting the transfer of records into the State Archives or the State Records Center, processing records, creating and maintaining finding aids for records, creating digital copies of records and making them accessible through ODL’s website and other online platforms. In addition, they work with state agency personnel to draft and review records disposition schedules and support the activities of the Archives and Records Commission.  

    Job Duties: 

    • Develops procedures to control the creation, maintenance and use of public records, including the development of retention and disposition schedules in accordance with Title 67 O.S. Sections 201 et seq. and 305 et seq., state and federal regulations and the records management manual
    • Serves as a consultant to state agencies and local governments; appraises public records or historical documents for permanent research value; coordinates transfer of records from agencies to State Archives and/or State Records CenterAssists persons conducting research; makes documents and other information available on request
    • Processes materials and prepares finding aids; monitors the indexing, storage and retrieval of materials
    • Makes presentations to professional organizations and conducts workshops and in-service training
    • May supervise and/or train personnel in archival and records management functions and activities

    Minimum qualifications: 

    • Master’s degree in archival administration, library science, history, political science, public administration, or a related field; or 
    • Registration with the Institute of Certified Records Managers as a Certified Records Manager (CRM) or the Academy of Certified Archivists as a Certified Archivist (CA)

    Salary:

    Salary range is $40,813 to $51,017 depending on education and experience.
