    ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
The Brett Weston Archive, NW Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

We seek an Assistant Director for one of the largest and most significant collections by an American photographer, The Brett Weston Archive. The Archive serves as a resource for museums, collectors, historians, and publishers worldwide. For more information, please visit http://www.brettwestonarchive.com.

In this integral, career-building position at the Archive, the successful candidate will be chiefly responsible for oversight of the Brett Weston Database (completed and rarely modified with new accessions) as well as database and inventory oversight of several individual private and corporate collections. The Assistant Director will jointly report to the Director of the Archive and to the Chief Financial Officer.

Other duties include administrative, inventory, registrar and clerical duties as assigned. These encompass, but are not limited to, report preparation and record keeping (including end of year, expense and variance reporting and upkeep and maintenance of Board Meeting minutes), ensuring proper insurance coverage and up-to-date inventory records, creation of individual files (digital and physical) and photography, packing, shipping, and cataloguing of artwork, art installation, and the monitor and maintenance of the artwork’s optimal physical condition.

Additional responsibilities include assisting the Director with strategic, creative suggestions for individual museum donations, with research of potential galleries with expansion opportunities for new collections, and with core selection of artwork to be consigned, donated, exhibited or collected.

Forward-thinking and self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision once objectives and tasks have been determined, the Assistant Director must thrive in a fast-paced environment. S/he will work well individually and as part of a team, successfully manage often competing, simultaneous priorities, and enjoy performing effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Clearly communicates ideas for improvement or increased efficiencies. Strong attention to detail, reliability and punctuality with a confident professional demeanor.

The successful candidate will have five years’ relevant experience in a related position, with a college degree in photography or art/art history. A Master’s degree is desirable. Demonstrable expertise with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Prior experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign requisite as well as with FileMaker Pro or an equivalent software program.

Work is done in a formal business environment. Some locations visited during the course of executing job duties may not be wheelchair accessible; some time may be spent outside. Requires some lifting, transporting items from the office to and from other venues and for special event set up.

Compensation includes a competitive salary and benefits, commensurate with experience.

OSBI check and NDA for successful candidate.
