Associate Librarian - Faculty
The University Archivist (rank is Associate Librarian) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the South Texas Archives, including the appraisal, arrangement, description, and preservation of collections. The University Archivist prepares exhibits and provides collection development and preservation consultation with digital library partners and other educational programs. Responsibilities include grant writing and administration. This is a fixed-appointment faculty position (reporting to the Library Director) and supervises three full-time positions plus student employees.
Required Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three years of related experience in archive processing, digital preservation, public history, and research methodologies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of archival theory, methods, and practices.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Salary range: $55,000 to $60,000
