    Title: Archivist
    Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
    Work Location: Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX
    Salary Range: $45,271-$51,000


    Job Purpose
    Evaluates material in the Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Collection for historical and research importance and processes collection items according to archival standards and practices which include organizing, categorizing and entering accurately into archival information and storage database to be used for research and filling relevant research requests.

    Job Responsibilities
    Evaluates, inspects, processes, organizes and catalogs items in the Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., Collection
    Preserves collection items by placing them in acid-free folders and boxes and removing material that may damage the item such as rubber bands, paper clips, binder clips, etc.
    Maintain archival storage and information database
    Researches relevant reference requests from Baylor College of Medicine faculty, staff, alumni, students and other affiliated groups
    Coordinates organization of material in main stacks with material in off-site archival collection storage facility

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:
    Required: Bachelor's degree in History or related field.

    Experience:
    Required: Three years of relevant experience.
