    What You Will Do

    Join our diverse workforce in support of National Security. Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is looking for an exceptional Project Manager to oversee the digitization of classified and unclassified materials.

    The WRS-SIS Digitization Project Manager will be responsible for implementing the digitization workflow, streamlining the digitization processes, assigning and tracking day-to-day activities for the team, and working with customers at TA-55 to ensure priorities and requirements are being met.

    The Digitization Project Manager will administer work to the team including: sorting and prioritizing documents and media, indexing, preparing documents for scanning, scanning, quality assurance, formatting files, entering metadata, and uploading to the digital classified repository. Other duties include providing support to locate and extricate important information as one-off requests for technical customers. This individual will be working as the on-site leader and will be administering work to the team and working in a semi-autonomous manner.

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a leadership role developing goals, objectives, and administering work to a team. Experience supervising, mentoring and evaluating work, directly and through subordinates managing multiple tasks, often with competing deadlines.

    Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated experience and knowledge of digitization technology. Demonstrated experience in developing process improvements to facilitate the advancement of digitization projects. Knowledge of library sciences, such as indexing, cataloging, formatting files, and organization of documents. Must be familiar with using online document repositories and metadata extraction from documents.

    Customer Relations: Demonstrated experience in customer-focused communication and relations. Experience handling sensitive situations, using sound and independent judgment. Support customer requests, priorities and deadlines. Experience developing clear, concise, and informative reports, presentations, correspondence, and other written materials to customers and management.

    Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 5 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Library Science is preferred.

    Desired Qualifications:

    LANL Familiarity: Familiarity and understanding of the weapons program within LANL, along with experience working on classified networks.

    Business Processes: Experience with business processes such as budgeting, planning, scheduling, data collection, and analysis. Experience in process improvement.

    Education: A Masters in Library Science (MLS) or Masters in Library Information (MLIS) is highly desired.

    Clearance: Active DOE “Q” Clearance

    Additional Details

    Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

    Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.

    *Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

    New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

    Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the one year of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
