Rescuing Texas History Mini-Grants 2014
The Portal to Texas History at the University of North Texas is accepting applications for its Rescuing Texas History Mini-Grant series. Each grant will provide up to $1,000 of digitization services to libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and other groups that house historical materials. All of the materials will be scanned at UNT Libraries and hosted on The Portal to Texas History.
The Portal to Texas History is a digital gateway to Texas history materials belonging to more than 250 partners that include museums, libraries, historical societies, government agencies, and colleges throughout Texas. Because of partners' contributions, the Portal has more than 400,000 items consisting of many types of materials such as photographs, maps, books, letters, manuscripts, artifacts, and newspapers, dating from the fifteenth century to the present. The Portal's mission is to provide free online access to Texas history materials that can be used by educators, students, and the public.
