    Call for Proposals
SSA's Program Committee invites you to submit a proposal for an educational session at the 2015 annual meeting in Arlington, Texas. The meeting theme relates to sports, games, and change.  Change is all around us, especially in the world of archives. We welcome session proposals on any aspect of change in the archival enterprise. That is a mighty broad topic, and we imagine that lots of folks will have something to say on the subject. Arlington is a sports and games town - home to the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Six Flags over Texas, so we also welcome sessions related to sports and games.

Looking for presenters interested in sharing their experience on the following proposed topic:

Session Title: “Changing Your Game Plan:  The Pros and Cons of Streamlined Archival Processing”

Brief Session Description Presenters will discuss their own professional experience of processing archival collection(s) while applying (or attempting to apply) the principles of the Greene and Meissner concept of “More Product/Less Process” to sizeable and significant archival collections in a limited amount of time.

My portion of the session considers the challenges of processing a large collection of Santa Fe Railroad land records in just 4 months, resulting in nearly 300 standard manuscript boxes, two dozen oversized boxes, and 1200 maps.

    To: Leslie Wagner:

I have worked under Mark Greene at the American Heritage Center, 2006-2007. I also processed most of the records and personal papers of the California Province of the Society of Jesus in Los Gatos and then Santa Clara, 2008-2013.

I have recently taken on in San Antonio, Texas a large project for the Society of Mary whose collections of six provinces, dating form 1849, have not been processed archivally. The description and arrangement portion of this project would make an angel sweat (even with no physical body!)

Do you think you might have any interest in my working within your session on MPLP describing the obstacles which I am facing and the possible solutions?

I will eventually present a paper, perhaps in 2016 as a case study, but right now, your 2015 session sounds interesting to me.

    Please respond.
