Is everyone in the flood zones ok? Does anyone know how the Houston repositories fared?

As far as I know (and I've been actively trying to find out), all of the cultural heritage institutions in Austin are fine.

However-- a few important contacts are below. Please share them far and wide.

Institutions that have been damaged should contact AIC-CERT, the emergency outreach team of the American Institute for Conservation. AIC-CERT can provide advice, and depending on the situation, come on site to help assess damage and create a plan for recovery. The number is 202-661-8068.

Individuals in Austin and Houston can contact the UT iSchool's disaster line for advice. We'll also be doing some workshops on salvage in the central Texas area. E-mail response@iSchool.utexas.edu or call 512-903-9564. You can read our press release here: http://news.utexas.edu/2015/05/26/ischool-can-help-flood-victims-save-documents-and-heirlooms

If you hear of anyone needing recovery assistance for libraries, museums or archives or individuals, please pass on the appropriate number or get in touch with me and I'll reach out.

    Thanks!
