In December 2016, a group of archivists affiliated with the Progressive Archivists listserv began soliciting comments on a statement expressing our concerns with the current state of American politics, placing a particular emphasis on our professional and ethical responsibilities as information professionals. We received well over 50 responses to our request for comments by December 30th. We are most grateful to all our colleagues who took the time to review the original document, and who submitted constructive comments, criticism and encouragements. We sincerely hope that the revised version adequately reflects most of the suggestions and concerns.
