Survey Request: Exhibit Lighting & Textiles

    The purpose of this survey is to understand how exhibit lighting is being thought about and utilized in conjunction with the preservation of textiles on display. We are interested in the current lighting policies, guidelines, and practices used by professionals in the museum world. We are interested in how these practices may change based on the museum or exhibition type, duration of the exhibition, or any other unidentified factor. Ultimately, we hope to share our findings and offer suggestions to those who are just beginning the process of writing or updating their own lighting policy, guidelines or practices for their textile collections.

    The survey should take approximately 10 - 20 minutes depending upon length of answers. The deadline to fill out the survey is February 5, 2021.
