The Alliance for Texas History’s inaugural Annual Conference will take place in beautiful San Marcos at Texas State University on May 15- 17, 2025.

The Alliance invites proposals for individual papers, full sessions, and roundtables to further stimulate conversation about the multilayered history of Texas. The program committee supports topics covering all aspects of Texas history, including, but not limited to, social, economic, political, cultural, preservation, and material culture, along with topics that address Texas history more broadly. Topics from a wide area of inquiry about Texas history from teaching and curriculum, historiography, biographical, underrepresented regional communities, literature, and publishing are encouraged. We welcome submissions from public historians, archivists, librarians, and local teachers, as well as academic and avocational historians.

Scholars in related fields with a relevance to history including but not limited to the sciences, technology, communication, literature, and visual arts are also encouraged to submit proposals. Student sessions are strongly encouraged, as are academic papers, graduate research, workshops, short films, and innovative formats not mentioned.

    Deadline: October 18, 2024

And if you want a little $$$ to support your presentation on archival topics to non-archivists (like these nice historians), remember that the SPOC fund is a way for SSA members to apply for up to $600 of travel / registration / housing funds.
